To watch a flower grow!

By, Heather Polyi  Owner/Key Artist Glam Spot NJ

I have been a makeup artist for 17 years+ ;)
Throughout that time I have taught other artists and clients much to know about skin care and the application of makeup for numerous purposes!

I met, aspiring artist Danielle Lynch in 2008, at Capri institute.
Instantly, I saw something in her, an innate creativity!

She eagerly wanted to learn from me, at that time I was involved in projects for television, and film.  I was happy to take her "under my wing" so to speak...

The first projects we worked on together were mainly "my" photo shoots...

Next we were on a movie set in Indiana...

Her love for Special Effects became clear...

We had a lot of fun beating up poor Megan...  This is Danielle's Handy work...

and another movie....

Exit wound...  Danielle's work...

Then another movie set....

We have now done countless projects together....

Pageants

(Her working with Miss Mexico)

Head Shots

Children....

The no "makeup" look can challenge many artists...

She's bloomed into a true PRO!

Working also on the show Selling NY for HGTV, With Home Run Brands advertising team, and with former NY Met players, she became a Celebrity Artist.
It's not just a fancy title being thrown round, she has earned her stripes!

If you are a bride...

(For the upcoming Manhattan Bride Fall/Winter Issue)

Or if your in the mood for a photo shoot...

Shooting a music video....

Or anything in between!

She's experienced, and ready!

Creativity, can't be taught!
She had that the day we met...

As a seed, her potential was obvious...
A "budding" artist, so to speak...

She is now a flower in full bloom!

I am so proud to have been there to watch her grow, throwing water and fertilizer on her once in a while...  But the work and the effort was all her own!

Her attention to detail is flawless, and she prides herself on "clean" makeup, requiring little to no editing!
She uses all methods, including airbrush.

I am proud to have her on my team, and as the artist I trust to call first for any project!

  1. I've been meaning to find the time to comment on this. I wanted to add some more to all the awesome things that Heather wrote.

Back in 2002 when I first met Danielle, we sat across from each other in the lunch room for a study class at BHS. Danielle was a "gothic girl", yet her makeup was not like your ordinary american teenage gothic chick. There was something very different about Danielle. Danielle had more then a look, she owned that style... It went much further and much deeper then some white makeup and dark lipstick.

We became friends, and since we were neighbors I had a chance to have an inside look to how this was look was created. Danielle would go into a zone. Music blaring, makeup out, big belts and combat boots, and she would fall into an intense meditative state of mind.

Danielle wasn't just a gothic chick with white makeup. She was and still is an artist in everything she touches. Her face, yo' face, everybodies face! She can transform a person into a beautiful bride, or a dead one. She can make you look like the girl next door, or the girl next door that was ran over by a truck and had half her face eaten by zombies. She'll make the zombie too and with her attention to detail she'd make sure the makeup in the zombies mouth shares the same synthetic blood type as the girls wounds.

The point is that Danielle talent and creativity comes with an interesting depth that goes beyond the colors. Her work is creativity with a story, sometimes beautiful sometimes scary but at all times real.
